Dr Christoph Schran is an Assistant Professor in Computational Atomic-Scale Materials Science.
Raised in the Ruhr area in the western part of Germany, Christoph studied Chemistry in Bochum for his Bachelor, Master, and PhD. However, he got around a bit in that time for various exchanges and research visits in Glasgow, Stanford, and Paris.
After completing his PhD, he worked shortly with a good friend and colleague in Prague before moving to London/Cambridge as a post-doctoral research fellow in 2020.
Continuing his preference to stay in one place, he has been working in Cambridge since then using machine learning to understand complex aqueous systems.
He is an active member of the management team of the Lennard-Jones Centre, which brings together the molecular and materials modelling community in Cambridge.
You can see his full profile on the Department of Physics website.
